Longmont, you welcomed us, so next week we’re opening our doors even wider!

It has been just over a month since we opened The Hummingbird Collective, and only two months since we followed our hearts, packed up our family, and moved to the place we always hoped we could call home.

And to say that transition was easy would be a bold-faced lie.

Leaving behind our friends, families, and everything familiar in Kansas City has been one of the most challenging chapters of our lives.

But the vicissitudinous chapter that came next is something we never could have expected.

Longmont welcomed us.

This town has shown our family more warmth, encouragement, kindness, and support than we could ever have dreamed possible.

The downtown organizations and associations have helped us find our footing as brand-new business owners. Our new friends and neighbors have shared the little things that make this town and this part of Colorado so special.

And our customers have been nothing short of incredible.

You’ve walked through our doors with kind words. You’ve encouraged us. You’ve told your friends and neighbors about us. You’ve helped our little store begin building a community faster than we thought possible.

More than once, someone has shared with us:

“Longmont needed a store like this.”

But what you may not realize is how much we needed a town like Longmont.

So next week, we want to give a little something back to the community!

Come in. Pour yourself a cup.

Starting Tuesday, we’ll have our self-serve coffee station for anyone who graces us with a visit.

You don’t have to come in with the intention of buying anything.

We genuinely want to meet more of the people who make this town what it is. Tell us your story. Tell us how long you’ve lived here. Tell us what you love about Longmont. We want The Hummingbird Collective to become more than a place to shop — we want it to become a place where people feel welcome, and leave feeling more beautiful than when they entered, regardless of a purchase or not.

And because a cup of coffee didn’t quite feel like enough…

On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday next week, we’ll be surprising five visitors each day, at different times throughout the day, with a small Hummingbird gift bag filled with a few of the products we’ve loved curating for the store.

No catch.
